Meet Boiling Springs Optometrist, Dr. Melissa Stiling
Melissa Stiling, OD was born and raised in Chesnee, SC and currently resides in Boiling Springs, SC. She is married to husband Kirkland, with whom she has a daughter named Addison and son named Foster! Dr. Stiling graduated from Wofford College with a B.S. in Biology in 2004. She then went to the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, TN and graduated Summa Cum Laude in the top five percent of her class with a Doctor of Optometry degree in 2009. Dr. Stiling completed her externships at the Naval Weapons Station in North Charleston, SC and at Draisin Vision Group in Charleston, SC where she gained the knowledge and expertise to provide high quality diagnostic and therapeutic services to patients. She and her family attend Boiling Springs First Baptist Church. She also serves on the Superintendent's Business Advisory Council for District 2. Dr. Stiling is a member in good standing with the American Optometric Association and the South Carolina Optometric Physicians Association. She is committed to serving the Boiling Springs and Spartanburg communities and looks forward to providing your family with excellent primary eye care!
Meet Boiling Springs Optometrist, Dr. Mitchel Wess
Dr. Mitchel Wess has been providing compassionate, comprehensive vision care for more than 30 years in both civilian and military settings. He completed his undergraduate studies at Ohio University and received his Doctor of Optometry at The Ohio State University College of Optometry. He served in the US Air Force as Chief of Optometric Services at Goodfellow Air Force Base. After his discharge, he moved into private practice, providing quality care including medical and surgical co-management of eye disease and laser refractive surgery, specialty contact lens care, surgical consultations and on-site optical services. He then served as Clinical Director for two LASIK Surgery Centers in San Antonio, Texas, where he was responsible for clinical and surgical operations. Dr. Wess is a member of the American Optometric Association and the South Carolina Optometric Physicians Associations, as well as OLLI at Furman University, Retired Officers Association, Upstate International and volunteers at Harvest Hope. Dr. Wess moved to the upstate in 2019 with his wife, Nikki. He has two sons and three grandchildren, and enjoys fly fishing, physical fitness and drawing when not caring for patients. Dr. Wess looks forward to using his vast knowledge of eye care to benefit the Boiling Springs and Spartanburg communities.
